Shaping Up to Being an Awesome Birthday
For about the past 2 months , Sean has been planning something for me for my birthday and has been saying things to me like "Another thing came together for your birthday. And you have no idea what it is" or "I figured out what we're doing for your birthday" and she wouldn't tell me. I have absolutely NO IDEA what is going on. Even Marine is in on it, talking to her about birthday stuff in front of me but being all cryptic about it. Like he said at dinner one day, "Oh. By the way, I got clearance". Clearance for what? Why would he need clearance? It is driving me crazy.
I had already known that Marine wasn't going to be here for my birthday because he was going to Wisconsin to go see his daughter. So that meant he wasn't going to be here for the actual day or for the weekend that Sean was planning. I'm kind of disapointed but I totally understand and so we made plans for him to stay with me that Sunday.
The night before he left he stayed with me since I'm so close to BWI and he told me that he wanted to give me my gift before he left. He had been stressing because "they" didn't come in the mail that week like they were supposed to but he was telling me anyway. So Marine hands me a card and inside he drew 2 pictures of tickets that said "Admission for one to see Wicked and a trip to New York City". Did I mention these bitches are for ORCHESTRA CENTER?!!? Needless to say I flipped my shit since I have been dying to see this show since 2004. But what really meant the most was the fact that I had only mentioned that I wanted to see it one time. And it was a while ago that I had said that. It floored me that he remembered.
I am SO EXCITED for my birthday and my special trip with my special guy. He really is too good to be true. And I especially can't wait for my birthday weekend with my girls!!!! (I think that's whose going anyway lol)
-Ray
Whoa...Sorry its been a while
So here's the run down:
-Marine dumped the New York girl. I'm a happy camper.
-Marine= best. sex. EVER.
- He still wanted to take it slow because of his EX and what not. I don't really care as long as he is seeing only me
- Middle of August at a Baribe or Ken party at mine and Sean's place, he told me that he wanted for us to be like the "real" Barbie and Ken since they were boyfriend and girlfriend. I immediately needed new panties.
-We are now "in a relationship" on FB (because you know a relationship isn't legit until you are in one on FB) However, he can't say he is in one with me because of the Marines and the EX and blah blah blah. I don't really care. It's just nice not to see single on my page anymore.
-I just realized I am a sad person after making that above statement.
Overall things are going extremely well and I REALLY like him. More than I should right now actually. Usually when I'm in a relationship my head is talking my heart out of things and I'm very practical; or hiding behind a wall. Whatever you want to call it. But with Marine that hasn't happened once. I'm really curious/excited/scared shitless as to what that means. Only time will tell!

Date Numero Dos
3 Points awarded to The Marine: He survived the interrogation from Sean and Lola*
5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Points awarded to The Marine: He is a spectacular kisser!
So, as you can read, he came to see me. He met up with me and the gals at a local bar and as soon as he sat down it started.
Sean: So what part of the military are you in?
Marine: The Marines.
Sean: When did you enlist?
Marine: 2002.
Sean: How long do you plan to stay?
Marine: Like 6 or 7 more years.
Sean: What is your rank?
Marine: Sergeant. Wow you really know the right questions to ask (nervous laugh).
Sean: Yeah. I'm an Air Force brat.
Marine: Ah. Okay.
That was the end of the military talk. I love my best friends <3>
After that nice little ice breaker the rest of the evening went very well. Sean and Lola had to leave some time after that because Lola had to get home. Again, we had great conversations and were definitely more flirty (i.e. he stared at my ass a lot and was vocal about it lol). After last call we headed back to the apartment for some "cuddling" and such. And if you're wondering, no, I did not sleep with him. I kind of like this kid so I don't want to ruin it. However, this choice was not made and held without effort because he definitely was good at trying to change my mind. I've had blue balls for about a week now.

A little cooking warms the heart
My dream woman will try anything once. She will smile through meals she may not be excited about but purely because she sees my excitement in making them. She will get up at 8 am on a Saturday morning just for breakfast with me and stay up until 1 am while I cook my late-night snack.
Where are you Miss Right? I'm waiting to make you dinner...and maybe breakfast.

Okay, So Why Did You Tell Me This?
Well Miss before we chill, I figured I'd let ou know what's up. I told you how I do the whole honesty thing. I don't have a girlfriend or anything and you were seriously the first date I've beeon on since the divorce. However the last time I went to NY I met a lady and have talked to her for a while now so I am going to see her when I go up this weekend. I didn't want to lead you on like I only have eyes for you. I think you are awesome and I am definitely attracted to you both physically and mentally. So if this changes anything and you don't want me to tay let me know. I'd love to chill with you even just as friends but I figured I'd let you make the decision.
Uhh...what the bloody hell is this? No, really. What is this? I don't get it. Why is he telling me this? When I read it I immediately felt like my ego had been punched in the face, set on fire, and then dragged in dog shit (especially since right after I read this I realized that I locked my keys in my car). I didn't respond immediately because I really had no idea what to say and, honestly, it made me upset. So I immediately forwarded it to Sean who gave me some awesome advice: this is dating. We're not boyfriend and girlfriend. He has no committment to me and vice versa. This is what happens with dating and he's just being really open about it. If I had someone else I was seeing, I would continue to see him. Also, I compared and contrasted this chick to me (like girls do to eachother).
Me:
- I live in Maryland
- My parents live 10 minutes away from him, meaning I come home a fair amount
- I'm attractive
- I have a fun personality
- I have my shit together
- She lives in NY
- He doesn't/won't see her often
- She's fat (in my mind)
- She's ugly (in my mind)
- She's a loser (in my mind)
- She has the personality of a wet mop (in my mind)
Any insight as to why he felt the need to reveal this information?- Ray
The Marine
We met for lunch last Sunday at my favorite restaurant in Small Town and talked for about 3 hours. Of course, there was eating intermingled with the talking but we talked for the better part of the meal. No awkward pauses, smart, witty, gets my humor, GORGEOUS, polite, pretty much everything that a girl could ask for on a first date. Only one "hang up"; he is divorced and has a little girl.
Now I really don't have a problem with this but it made my brain have a hiccup for a second. His daughter is absolutely beautiful and I'm sure she's really sweet, it just makes me a little nervous since I've never had to deal with an ex-wife and a daughter before. But I come from a divorced family and my step-mom had to deal with 3 kids and an ex-wife so that gives me a bit of an idea of how to approach the situation. Plus I'm not one to shy away from a challenge so I'll be okay.
After lunch we met up with his friends for a bit then went to see a movie which was TERRIBLE! (HEED MY WARNING: DO NOT SEE PUBLIC ENEMIES!) And the theater was absolutely frigid but that did lead to him putting his arms around me to keep me warm. I've never been so content with being freezing cold in my life.
The night ended with a very nice, sweet kiss and my parents thinking I was kidnapped. So that was awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing him again. I'm definitely intrigued.

Monogamy
Dating is like parking downtown on a Friday night. You drive around aimlessly for45 minutes searching for a spot. You pass an empty spot, circle the block and its gone when you get back. You see another great spot only one block from the bar but its a one-way street and you can't turn down there. You finally pull up on a spot. Its six blocks from the bar and you're wearing four-inch heels. Whatever, its finally a spot. After trying every paralleling parking technique you learned in driving school, you can't fit in this spot to save your life. You give up. You go home. You hate parking. You realize its just like dating. Now you hate dating.
I don't want to drive around all night, pass a million spots that I inevitability can't park in, give up and go home. I want to believe there's someone who is the total package: one block from the bar, on the right side of the road, on a two-way street, with enough room for a mid-size SUV to shimmy in there and still there when I get back around the block.

Small Town= Creeper City
We decided to go to a local seaside bar which I was kind of apprehensive about since that would surely be a high school reunion. I don't talk to many people that still live in Small Town, and there is a reason for that. So when we walked out to the beach bar, it was exactly that. Jamie and I made the best of it and started to dance by the band when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to see a guy covered in tattoos and piercings who looks mildly familiar.
Tattoos: Hey Ray. Do you remember me?
Ray: Ugh...Kind of?
Tattoos: I'm [Elementary Creeper]
It turns out that he was my best friend that I had when I was in kindegarten to 3rd grade when he moved away. So we started talking and he informs me that he has two little girls and works on rental cars. He's a winner right? He started creeping me out then so I politely ended conversation and moved on. Then another guy, who I have maybe talked to five times in my entire life, came up to me and started talking to me like we were old buddies. He offered to buy me a drink, I declined, but apparently he took it as a yes because he promptly returned with a vodka and cranberry. I know what you're thinking and I didn't refuse it but I did let Jamie know that if I started falling asleep that she needed to remove me immediately as I had been ruffied.
As the evening wore on, Elementary Creeper kept popping up at random times. Jamie and I were taking a picture and out of nowhere he goes "Hey ladies. Would you like me to take it?" Then he'd walk by and poke me or grab my arm. So Jamie and I reverted back to high school and started running away and hiding. Pretty adult, huh? Then we decide to hang out with Steve*, the guy that Jamie's dating, and all of his friends who were single. JACKPOT! Did I mention they're all marines and 25 and under? Like I said; jackpot.
Me and one of the friends hit it off, so I am now introducing The Marine. We have a great conversation and things are going well when I turn around and see The Best Friend. I excuse myself and go say hi to him. HUGE MISTAKE. After I return back to The Marine, The Best Friend comes over to me and starts monopolizing my attention. I don't want to be rude and be like "umm you're cockblocking" so I indulge him. Then he drops the bomb, "Wanna come home with me?" I could not believe it. Not only did I have one creeper who would have loved for me to come home with him and reminisce about the old days (among other things), or another one who was trying to throw drinks at me, but another one who is the best friend of The Ex who wants to take me home. THIS NEVER HAPPENS! Was there a full moon on Saturday?
I politely declined The Best Friend but he kept insisting as I kept refusing. I kept giving The Marine "I'm sorry" looks because I really did feel bad that I was not talking to him. But, amazingly, he just waited patiently. The Best Friend finally got the hint (or so I thought) and walked away, at which I promptly ran over to The Marine and apologized profusely for my rudeness. He assured me not to worry and said "It's okay. I can be patient". Swoon.
We continued our conversation and he asked for my number and then The Best Friend called my name. I excused myself again and asked what he wanted. He asked me AGAIN to go home with him and this time I was a bit rude with my response. I couldn't believe he was doing this! So this time I just walked away after saying no. I had been cockblocked the entire night and refused to have it done anymore. I made the right choice because The Marine asked me to lunch the following day.
Hopefully there will be more to come! - Ray

The Return of Matrix Coat
I was sitting at my desk and I looked up to see The Coat walk in the door. My eyes immediately popped out of my head and my stomach fell out of my butt. It was awesome. So, I decided to be polite and said hello. He replied with "Hello darling!" Vomit.
We continue the politeness and he talks and talks and talks and talks some more when he went to go fill out a deposit slip. I tried to get my supervisor, Belinda's*, attention but she didn't understand why exactly I was freaking out. So she had me do some work making me look as busy as possible. Luckily he noticed this and decided not to say bye to me, THANK GOD. And so Matrix Coat disappeared into the abyss and I have not yet received a text or a email via Facebook. It seems he got the message and conveniently forgot my number.

But no really? What AM I supposed to do with this?
So isn't it awesome when a guy calls you and is all like "Oh My God! I wanna see you!" and then tells you he's totally going to come through your city and visit and then calls you and just casually says "Yeah I'm crazy tired. I just drove 13 hours yesterday from New York". Oh really? Was I napping when you came by? Because I definitely didn't see you.
Isn't it also awesome when while in the midst of this conversation he says "Hey, can you hold on for a sec?" and then switches over to talk to this other person......and you're waiting......and waiting.........
Oh did I mention you're still waiting? Yea. Awesome. I love being ignored. It's A-MAZING.
If I don't get laid soon, somebody is going to die.
Goodnight Baltimore. Ray
Holy Text Message, Batman!
Now I'm sure all of you know what these things are and how to use them. If you don't, I'm a little worried for you. With the vast array of social networking and technology options, surely these things make it easier to date and meet new people. I'm actually kind of skeptical of that. Yes we may be connected to eachother at all times but what happens to the thrill of the first phone call?
I'm a texter. I'll admit it, I'm addicted. About 90% of the time I'll text you before I call you and that can get a bit hairy sometimes since I am a very sarcastic person. I tend to forget that the tone gets lost in translation. I find this to come in handy rather than leaving a voicemail because I am pretty sure that the person that I am texting will read the text before he/she listens to the voicemail. I think I'm the only one that still checks their voicemail on a regular basis. But, there are the times when I don't receive a responding text. What happened to tact and ettiqute?? Does that not exist for texting/email? I think we've all become desensitized and a little lazy when it comes to responding to this type of communication. But just because we aren't face to face doesn't mean that I don't deserve an answer back. I find it to be very rude if I'm left hanging, wondering if my message got lost on the information super-highway. So do me and your friends a favor: give us an answer back. We'll thank you for it.

Confessions of a Facebook Stalker
So....what the hell am I supposed to do with this?
When I was 16 I went on vacation to the beach with my family and my best friend Jamie*. Jamie and I were walking down the sidewalk from the beach in our bathing suits, thinking we were hot shit. All of a sudden a car of guys drives by us and they yelled something at us. We waved and giggled with excitement obviously basking in the attention. We keep walking and we realize that the same car is parked in a parking lot right in front of us. The guy in the passenger seat, James*, leans out and introduces himself to us. After talking for a few minutes, the boys invite me and Jamie to a party at the beach house they are staying at. We are ecstatic.
We get ready. Dressing in our most "adult" looking outfits since we are obviously going to lie about our age. We get to the party and low and behold, we are the youngest people there. I think the average age of the attendees was 21 so we tell them that we are 18 and go to the local community college in Small Town. This is when I meet The New Yorker.
We start talking and hit it off immediately. He is an aspiring screen writer and I'm an aspiring actress so of course we get along. He also informs me that the name of the heroine in his newest screenplay is also my name. I am mush. This continues until I get the dreaded phone call from Step Mommy informing me that me and Jamie have to come home. I immediately feel lame that I have to tell this guy, who is 21, that I have a curfew. I tried to spin it as best I could to make it seem like my Step Mom is a bitch and I have no idea why she is doing this to me. Plus, Jamie is pretty drunk by this point as we are both relative light weights since neither of us drank a lot. The New Yorker offers to give us a ride.
Jamie is hilarious on the ride back, rambling about nothing and just keeps saying "I'm wasted!" so that keeps me busy most of the way. As soon as I get out of the car at the condo, The New Yorker calls my name and I duck my head back into the car. "How about a good night kiss" he asks. I reply "Umm....no. I don't think so. It was nice meeting you though". Did I mention I had a gigantic herpe on my lip at the time? Yea. The last thing I needed was him to lick off the enormous amount of lip gloss I had on this thing.
We exchange numbers and I don't really expect to hear from him again. Boy was I wrong. He calls me and we talk a fair amount and I know that I have to tell him the truth. Here is how the conversation went: Ray: I have to tell you something. N.Y.: Really? What is it? Ray: You might get mad. But it's only fair that I tell you. N.Y.:......um. Okay. Ray: Remember how I told you I was 18? Haha, well I'm actually 16. N.Y.: [really long awkward silence] Well..[clears throat] I'm glad you told me. And you know, this is kind of weird but, I still want to talk to you. I think you're really awesome.
We talk for an entire year after that. Every day. Then comes time for Senior Week at the beach. We decide that he is going to come down for a day or two and see me. I was really excited to see him but SO nervous at the same time. When we finally saw each other, it was extremely difficult to look at each other because we were so used not seeing the other one talk. Well, we're out in the hallway and he is trying to go in for the kiss and I can't stop laughing. It's just too weird! But he went in for it and it was AWESOME! So we spent most of the evening making out with each other.
We met briefly the next day and that was the last time I saw him. We've kept in touch over the years, not talking as much but we still have a connection. Well, we reconnected last fall since we were both single again. He had since moved to California to pursue his professional golfing career. At one point he offered to pay for a plane ticket for me to go out and see him but that worried me a little so I politely declined. As time went on, we talked less and less and in the late winter he told me he had a girlfriend. I heard from him again in the spring when he told me he was moving to South Carolina with her. I was a little surprised at the strong feeling of jealousy that I felt.
Now brings us to the present. Before I received the 4 a.m. phone call, The New Yorker texted me a few nights before and told me that he felt like he had made a mistake moving with The GF. I asked why and he told me that he lost interest and just wasn't happy. Then he says "is it wrong that I keep thinking about you and all I want to do is see you and make love to you all night long?" I had no clue how to respond so I think I just said something like "I'm sorry things aren't working out". I didn't hear from him after that so I just wrote it off to drunk texting.
The phone call. I ignored it since it was so late/early and figured that he's just leave me a message. Well he did. I listened to the message and this is what it said verbatim: "Ray. What's up? What's up, baby? Sorry I'm calling so late. It's like, 4:30, 5 o'clock in the morning. I, uh, broke up with [The GF] tonight. A few hours ago actually. I am in a shitty little motel. I'm actually gonna be heading back up to New York for a few days so she can move her stuff out of my place. I, uh, wanna see you. Maybe I could stop by on the way to New York. I don't know where you are or what you're doing. Maybe on the way back, I don't know but I am just calling to give you a heads up. Anyways, I do miss you and I definitely wanna see you. It's... me and you have one of those weird things going on. It's odd but it's definitely great. So give me a call tomorrow and let me know what's up. Okay? I'll talk to you later, sweetie."
What. The. Hell.
What am I supposed to do with this?! I mean I want to see him but....whoa. I don't know how to think, I don't know how to feel, I don't know what to do. Mother says to make time and to see him. It's obviously fate and we do have a weird connection. Maybe this is our chance? The realist in me is thinking "pfft. You're kind of a rebound. He did just break up with her". My libido is screaming "DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!"
Any input? Ray

The Basics
I work at a bank. It's......a job. It pays. Oh and did I mention all of the old men and Hispanic men who love to make eyes at me and tell me that I'm the type of girl they could take home to their momma. Amazing. I've had an older Jewish man with 6 kids call me at work and tell me that he thinks about me. A Korean man who bothered me so much that he has been banned from our branch. Finally, a Hispanic man wanted to call me at home to practice his English with me. I'm swimming with winners, huh?
I also intern with an entertainment public relations company as well as a movie studio. I'm hoping something comes out of this especially since I have to give free stuff to drunk people while trying to make sure they remember what movie party they were attending.
The Boys
The Bouncer GORGEOUS guy who I met while doing an event for the movie company I intern for.
Wolverine Met him briefly in Small Town and then got to know him a bit better last Fall. Apparently I have a knack for wrong timing because he was "about to start dating someone soon. Maybe". So he stopped talking to me. He has recentlly reappeared sans girlfriend and texting me A LOT.
The New Yorker Guy I met way back when I was 16 and in Ocean City. We had a great connection and have stayed in touch over the past 5 years. He has recently moved to South Carolina with his girlfriend and then informed me that he has since broken up with her. He really wants to see me. This could get interesting.
The Fireman We dated briefly when I was younger and things didn't work out. We've always had a really strong physical connection and even more so recently. Funny how he still has a girlfriend.
The Ex Yea. Him. Still drinks too much. I still care too much. Ugh.
The Best Friend Not mine. The Ex's. I'm the ultimate untouchable to him and have been for a long time. We knew eachother before The Ex and I dated and have a little history.
The Matrix Coat Guy who goes to The Citadel who came into the bank one Friday evening. I caught him staring at me and he was in a uniform so I was mush. I'm a ballsy person so I found him on Facebook and sent him an email saying that I thought he was cute. We then began writing on eachothers walls and Instant Messaging. He was soooooooo cheesy and romantic and I LOVED it. Did I mention he called me Darling? Mush.
Then things started escalating. He wrote me a poem that was pretty risque but beautiful all the same and the conversations got more intense. Then the talks about seeing eachother happened. I, of course, didn't offer to drive all the way to The Carolinas for this boy but he did offer to come up and see me.
The day he came up to see me I was really nervous. I got the call that he was at the door so I ran outside to let him in and what is he wearing? A calf-length, leather, trench coat. I'm surprised he didn't notice my reaction because I defintely almost vomitted in my mouth. Anyway, the night was kind of awkward but I just wrote it off to nerves. Then the dreaded first kiss awkward moment thing happened. You know what I'm talking about. The moment when you know the kiss is going to happen but not sure when it is and then you just end up staring at eachother. Yea. Awkward. So I grabbed the bull by the balls and went in for it since this puss obviously wasn't going to do it.
We went to lunch the next day and I really started figuring out how much of a goober this guy really was. I actually ordered a cocktail at 2 in the afternoon. No kiss when we parted that time but we planned to go to dinner later that night. So, strike #1 for the evening- he didn't offer to come pick me up. I had to meet him. Strike #2, he said his parents were going to be with us. I freaked out about that for a bit but pulled myself together. I mean, afterall, I invited him up here to see me so I should suck it up and go out with him. I find parking at the place but he's nowhere to be found inside. I call, and he tells me "Oh. I think you're at the wrong one". Strike #2 1/2. So I wait and he shows up. I got luckily and he left the Rents at home. BUT, what is he wearing? A silk shirt. No Matrix coat, but a silk, effing, shirt. Strike #3.
Still, I figure that I'll get a free meal out of it so we decide to get a drink while we wait for a table. We're standing at the bar waiting to be served and he yells "Senora" at the bartender. Now, we're at a Mexican restaurant but REALLY?! I literally died inside. The two women sitting in front of us turned and looked at him, as did the bartender, and I looked away and tried to hide my face. Soon after, my date talked my ear off as he obviously could not handle his Tom Collins (by the way, I tasted his drink, and there was barely any gin in this drink).
Dinner was embarrassing since he attemtped to speak to the waiter in broken Spanish. But because I am a glutton for punishment, I agreed to meet his friends after dinner. And I had to drive.
We get to his friend's house, he kisses me and it was terrible. I couldn't even exude a small amount of enthusiasm but I guess he was into it. This house was DISGUSTING and I immediately starting thinking of ways to get out of this situation. While sitting in the basement, I pretended that my phone buzzed and I excused myself to take the call in the other room. I was totally committed to this and I had a conversation with a person who wasn't on my cell phone. I came back into the room and said that I had to leave because my mom fell down and couldn't get up. I know, I'm a horrible person but she does fall down a lot.
So I left Matrix Coat without a car and went to the Gay Watering Hole with Sean and had an awesome time. I never talked to him ever again. But I mean c'mon. Would you talk to a guy who wears a Matrix Coat AND silk shirts?! Hell to the no!

Introduction to Ray
Moving head-on into the third month of living in the city and I LOVE IT! I love the noise, the dirt, the lack of space, EVERYTHING. So you can suck it, Small Town. This gal is movin' on to bigger and brighter things with her best friend, Sean.
I graduated in May '09 and still looking for my dream job (thanks Recession). I'm not really sure if Baltimore is going to supply that for me but I'm always willing to change. I have a couple and I'm working my ass off to get there but who knows? I sure don't.
I'm still learning a lot about who I am as a person, a woman, a friend, and a daughter. Here's what I'm up against:
- Parents are divorced. So that gives me an AWESOME outlook on marriage.
- Two younger brothers and a very honest Dad. Did I mention we're Italian?
- My godfather is a retired police officer.
- My mother is a hopeless romantic and I'm a realist. Yea. Those conversations are fun.
- Did I mention my mother is still unmarried?
- First "for real" boyfriend was an alcoholic and was the emotional equivalent of Mt. Vesuvius.
- I have huge boobs. I hate them. All I ever seem to date are boob guys.
- I act like "the man" in relationships. Calling someone out for crying, Tom Hanks style? Oh yea. I've done it.
Next we had The Fireman who had a thing for me for four years and I didn't realize it until later. A "friend" later ruined that relationship but it was on the outs anyway. We're both passionate people so that works for something and not so much in others.
Then there was Casanova. I didn't date him but but I handed over the V card to him because he was a popular guy when we were in high school (plus he was really hot). He is now a semi-famous musician and I know the truth about how big his penis is. When I tell this story my pinky finger is used for measurement. Yes, it is to scale.
Soon after that I met The Ex. I was introduced to him by a friend and he swept me off my feet. I had never had someone look at me the way he did or treat me the way he did. It was very rocky and we fought way too much. He had a plethora of family problems and I felt that I could help him. So I stuck it out and put up with with things that I shouldn't have.
Then came time to transfer to a college outside of Small Town. The Ex wasn't happy with me leaving and basically backed me into a corner about moving in with me. Again, I felt I was helping him so I gave in. He lived with me for two years without my parents knowing and that really put a stress on things. During this time I wasn't going out, making new friends, normal things a college kid would do. It got to a point that I couldn't take it anymore and I broke up with him a week after we signed the new lease for our apartment. Not only did I break up with him, I also had to send him back home where all of his issues originated. That is one of hardest things I've ever had to do.
June 14, 2008. My Single-Again date. Since this date I have embarked on a dating journey that could add another season to the Sex in the City anthology. This is where you come in. I tell you my story; you tell me what you think.
Lovingly, Ray.
Good Evening Baltimore
I work in the marketing department of a non-profit arts organization. I love my job and most of the people I work with. The new PR intern is an underage hottie with a knack for flirting. Don’t worry boys, I’m pretty sure she’s straight. She’s one hell of a tease though. No other possible sparks are work unless I start harboring mom issues and want to date our 50 year told Data Analyst.
The Ladies
Possible Tranny
Look, I know it sounds mean, but you have to see this girl. She has the shoulders of a line backer and walks like she's hiding something between her legs. I take partial blame: I gave her my number while under the influence of six, maybe seven, beers. But after meeting up and a 911 save from Ray, she's toast. Highlight of the weekend: Saturday night Ray and I made a trip to the local gay watering hole, The Possible Tranny approached me at the bar. She introduced herself to Ray and then asked to speak to me alone. I refused and bid her a good night. Later that evening, I received the following texts (written exactly as sent):
1:37:55 AM Babygirl... Its ok if ure datin some1 else. Am I actin a fool? I'm really honest and forward so I don't mind... Get a hold of me ttonight. Not tomorrow. I prefer gettin blown off sooner than later. I'l be disapponted but I respect your wishes.
Not only a tranny, but a R&B song writer?
The Actor
She is moving to Chicago in 49 days to pursue her acting career.
Right now...a fire inside an apartment building across the street. Who votes for Ray stepping outside and meeting a fireman? I'm sure he has people to save and a fire to put out but she's hot too.
Night Baltimore,
Sean
Introduction to Sean
Dear Baltimore Readers,
We are moving into month three of city-living and things haven't slowed down. The Big Change happened for me around October of 2008: found dream job, graduated from college two months later, moved downtown five months after that and single for the last four weeks. Here goes moving on and moving forward to finding the perfect woman who can drink wine with Ma, watch mindless cartoons with my siblings and keep up with me.
Its only fair to brief you on where my dating life began, so let's go back to junior year of high school. I dated The Loser and thought I was really cool but it only last a few months. Then I met Miss Not-So-Right and was with her until the summer after my first semester of college. She joined the Army while I was in college, I waited for her, she found someone else and forgot to tell me. The next lady is now one of my best friends, The Actor. Loved each other but love turned for friendship on my end and things ended eleven months later. The Psychologist came next. Beautiful, blonde, sexy, the whole package woman. I fell hard. And flat on my face when she broke up with me four months later without warning and only saying, "I have a lot going on." The next relationship started ten months later with The Kid. For seven months we were up and down, backward and foward. She was only one year younger than me but her overall maturity averaged about six years younger. She broke up with me four weeks ago when she convinced herself I was trying to sleep with The Psychologist (who lives in NY).
There have been girls in between the longer relationships who lasted a week or two, humored me for one night, provided a laugh between my friends, stalked me in our neighborhood or simply got away. Here's where you come in: read our blog, tells us what you think and learn from everyone's mistakes.
